Our team had a great time at EthCC in Brussels last week.
We danced, we dined, we kicked it with friends new and old.
We wanted to run through a quick recap of our time there and share some of the standout moments:
We Danced
We partnered with Refraction to host an incredible party at Reset, a cultural arts space in Brussels. With performances by House Legend Move D, Tijana T, Dana Kuehr, and Catalina, it was the perfect opportunity to dance, connect with friends new and old, and celebrate the week.
We Ate
A highlight of the week for the Towns team was our community dinner at a beautiful gallery in Brussels. The intimate setting provided a refreshing change of pace from the busy conference schedule. It perfectly encapsulated what we want Towns to be: a more intimate place to connect with our communities and friends online.
We Schmoozed
One of the most memorable events was the Serotonin Chalet, held on a private island. We gathered over cocktails, music, and open fire barbecues in a stunning setting. Good music and fantastic food made it the perfect networking event. Arriving by boat to the middle of the lake gave the event that extra touch of good vibes.
We Paneled
Ben spoke on a panel discussing the transformative power of SocialFi in enhancing online communications and social networking. The conversation explored how decentralized social platforms like Towns are creating more meaningful and secure interactions online.
We Talked Some More
Ben spoke at Coindesk's X Spaces event on GameFi, touching on ideas from his op-ed. He discussed the future of web3 gaming and how gamers can harness their value across the ecosystem. This idea perfectly sums up our position: “Games should be protocols, decentralized and governed by fee-generating guilds and platforms, with game publishers acting as node operators.”
'Til Next Time!
EthCC was a fantastic week for Towns, full of insightful conversations, meaningful connections, and great events. We’re already in the planning stages and gearing up for the next few conferences we’re going to attend this year, and we hope to see you out there!
